Welcome to "Snow"!
"Snow" is a feature-length contemporary inspirational drama about a woman's journey towards love and destiny, an artist's struggle for personal change. Set in Northern California and Tuscany, the film will feature an international cast with great roles for women of all ages.
Logline: "When an aspiring young American painter discovers that she's pregnant with a child that her husband may not want, she's forced to confront her troubled marriage, finding the strength to change her life when she falls in love with a Danish poet."
"Snow" is a journey about a life at a crossroad, a critically important three-month long very personal epiphany. It's a story about the decisions that Rose must make regarding the new direction that her life could take if she wants to achieve fulfillment. The movie is actually quite a universal voyage that we can all relate to. It's about that character defining moment that changes a life and helps each of us to move towards becoming our true selves, allowing us to face the present and the future with hope and the opportunity to be at peace with ourselves and the world.
In theme and subject matter, the film lies somewhere between Gustave Flaubert's classic novel "Madame Bovary", Henrik Ibsen's iconic play "A Doll's House", the film adaptations "Under The Tuscan Sun", "Eat, Pray, Love", "Carol", and "Brooklyn" and the newer films "Roma" and "Portrait Of A Lady On Fire".
There is a growing list of artistic collaborators for "Snow", which includes Grammy Nominee singer/songwriter Alissa Moreno, Goya Award (Spain's equivalent of the Oscars) winning composer Zeltia Montes, popular Danish actress Maibritt Saerens (who starred in the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film "Happy, Happy"), internationally published Danish poet and novelist Ulrikka Gernes, Producers Emily Beach and Carrie Lynn Certa, and Writer, Director, Producer Kenny Hargrove. We are seeking other artists to help create this heartfelt story.
While "Snow" is about a particular fictional woman's journey, the underlying message is universal and inspiring. The film wants to encourage each of us to step outside of our psychological "box", to explore beyond our comfort zones and to experience the new. The basic message of this complex but heartfelt and artistic drama about a woman finding her "voice" is to get off the couch and live your life. Life is a gift. Make the most of it!
